Why am I being charged tax?

ShopGoodwill.com is collecting sales and use tax on purchases made through the site in accordance with the 2018 U.S. Supreme Court South Dakota v. Wayfair decision and/or marketplace facilitator regulations enacted by individual states. Additionally, in some instances ShopGoodwill.com is serving as the sales and use tax collection agent for some of its Sellers.

Concerning how tax rates are calculated, the tax is determined based on the (1) the property being purchased, determined based on the category to which the Seller initially listed the property and (2) the ship-to location.

All taxes added will be calculated at the rate and in compliance with local and federal mandates, these are not something ShopGoodwill is responsible for setting in place.

Whether or not S&H is taxable is also at the discretion of your state which may contributes to the appearance of different rates.

Further information on the taxability of internet purchases can be found at your state's department of taxation or revenue website or via your tax provider.
