1861 to 1866 Military Records, 1 Medal, 1 Photo (6672792)

This is a collection of military records for David A. Merrill, they are dated between 1861 and 1866 and some have the imprinted seal on them. This lot comes with a photo that is in half a frame, it looks like there use to be a cover on it that latched and the man in the photo has not been identified but, came with the papers and the photo measures 3” x 2.25” in size. There is a medal that reads “Grand Army of the Republic 1861 Veteran 1966”, this is worn from the years and the pin part on the back is missing. Some of the writing on the papers has faded from the years, the papers are discolored, they are torn on some of the folds and they are yellowing from age. This lot appears to be in well aged condition but, fair condition and this lot is sold as is. Overall this appears to be in fair condition and this would be an amazing addition to any collection.

There is a medal that reads “Grand Army of the Republic 1861 Veteran 1866”, I had made a type o in the above description.

There is 1 paper that appears to be David’s appointment to First Lieutenant and this is from the Governor of Ohio, there is 1 paper that appears to be David’s appointment to Second Lieutenant and this is from the Governor of Ohio, there is 1 paper that appears to be David’s appointment to Captain and this is from the Governor of Ohio, there is 1 paper that is titled Muster-In Roll, there is 1 paper that is titled Muster-Out Roll, there are 2 papers that are titled Army Of The United States Certificate For Discharge, there are 2 pages that are the Certificate for discharge to enable them to receive their pay and there is 1 paper that is for a different privet that I am unsure of the name and this is his discharge paper. This information is based on my ability to interpret the writing that is on the documents and has not been authenticated.

Shipping – We use UPS as our main shipper, USPS will be available for media mail and for other small items that can be sent in a Priority Flat Rate Box. Priority Mail shipping must be REQUESTED PRIOR TO PAYMENT as well as combined orders or shipping insurance; NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE AFTER PAYMENT IS MADE.

Shipping Charges - Due to the new USPS regulations shipping charges for package dimensions over 1 cubic foot will be calculated at a minimum of 20lbs. We will not be able to combine shipping on any USPS items, with the exception of jewelry, clothing and items sent media mail. And Media Mail items combined with non-Media Mail items will ship at Priority Mail Rates.

Return Policy – All items are SOLD AS–IS and are not refundable. The only exception would be in the case of damage during shipping or misrepresentation. And all returns must have prior approval from Goodwill Industries of Central Michigan’s Heartland. REFUNDS can be approved for the ITEM PURCHASE PRICE only when the item is returned and in the same condition as sold. A request to return must be submitted within 7 days of receipt of purchase. Shipping and Handling cost are NON-REFUNDABLE. If an item is returned to Goodwill Industries of Central Michigan’s Heartland as unclaimed, not deliverable or if an interception is requested the customer will be emailed and allowed 7 days to pay additional shipping charges for us to resend the item. Items paid for and not picked up from the seller within (30) days from close of auction will be considered a donation (with no refund) and resold with no further notice.
