For auction is a Technics Quartz SL-1200 MK2 turntable system. Very professional grade record player! It powers on nicely. It may need a new needle as the current one appears bent. We do not have any speakers to hook it to but we tested it with a record and I was able to hear music when I put my ear near the needle. If we get some speakers I'll test further. I had to apply some pressure to get the music to play so the arm may need to be properly balanced with some adjustments. Also, the "piston" looking button at about 5 o'clock (When looking at the platter) seems to be stuck. This appears to be quite an impessive turntable but it is being sold AS-IS since it is quite old and may require repair. I think there are companies that specialize in repairing and refurbishing these units. Below are some technical specifications OF A NEW Technics SL-1200 MK2. The one we have for sale may vary.

A customer emailed with the following info about this model: You CANNOT listen to this or any turntable using only speakers! You must use an appropriate amp or receiver with phono inputs ONLY! Doing otherwise can cause damage rendering this item worthless! Check to see if the cartridge is MM or MC (moving magnret ot moving coil) as well since the input on the amplifier/receiver must be matched for impedance and current.
